In 2008, the FILE Games category brings a repertoire of 50 experimental and artistic electronic games. The different formats and proposals of those games were developed by independent, national and international producers and firms. Among the participants, there are themes related to biological sciences, challengers of the physics laws and even those that dialog with artistic movements. New ways of playing are presented as installations-games that confer new movements to the human body and carry in themselves innovative interaction proposals.
FILE Games also shows a perspective of the best games produced in Brazil in recent years. In a partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the category presents games awarded by Abragames, an institution that promotes Brazilian industry in the development of electronic games.
Some of the games are centered in the Brazilian culture, its history, indigenous legends and
local characters, and simultaneously corroborating the growing potential in game production in several areas of the country.
