FILE - International Festival of Electronic Language is a non-profit cultural organization whose purpose is to disseminate and to develop arts, technologies and scientific research, by means of exhibitions, debates, lectures, and courses. The festival promotes an yearly meeting in Brazil, in the city of São Paulo, of international arts and new-media professionals.

FILE’s eighth edition happens at SESI's Art Gallery, from August 13th- to September 09th-,2007 with the exhibition of media works related to netart, artificial life, hypertext, computer animation, virtual reality, software art works, besides games, interactive films, e-videos, digital panoramas, and electronic-art and robotic installations, in interactive and immersive rooms.
The SESI Cultural Center mezzanine will host the sixth edition of FILE SYMPOSIUM, presenting lectures by Brazilian and foreign professionals, who will discuss the digital-electronic culture in its relations to art, sciences and technologies.
FILE also promotes the fifth edition of FILE HIPERSÔNICA, the festival's sonic arm, which intends to elaborate connections among the worlds of images, sonorities and text. This year, Hipersônica will be distributed again in: Hipersônica-Theater, with live experimental acts in the sound area; Hipersônica-Exhibition, where the public will be able to check different intersections of image and sound developed by digital artists; Hipersônica-Performance, where the simultaneity of presentations have acquired transformative aspects.
Registrations and rules to participate in the exhibition of FILE 2007: media works such as installations, netarts, artificial life, hypertext, computer animation, digital design, virtual reality, interactive films, e-videos, on line robotics and others.
FILE SIMPOSYUM 2007 is open for media art theoretical papers, media art work presentation, performances digital-techno.
FILE HIPERSÔNICA 2007 is open for works that explore the electronic sonority: electronic music, erudite electronic music, pop electronic music such as techno; drum'n'bass; trance; hardcore techno; break beat and others, biologic music, genetic music, sound installations, performances, dramaturgy music and resonant poetry.
FILE-GAMES 2007 is open to all the producers and developers (creators) of digital games. FILE-GAMES will be happening simultaneously with FILE 2007, FILE-SYMPOSIUM 2007 and FILE HIPERSÔNICA.

FILE - Electronic Language International Festival is opening registrations for its eight edition, that will be held at Sesi Paulista's cultural space, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from August 13th to September 09th, 2007. The call for entries is open from 05th February to March 30th, 2007. Submissions are free and open to professionals, researchers and students of the electronic language. You must fill out all the entry form fields and submit it on-line. Then you must download the work participation authorization form, print it, sign it and send it by snail mail, along with the work digital copy, to the following address:

Each submission should have the participants name, work title and technical specifications as well as a work abstract in English (maximum of 1000 words) and a brief biography (maximum of 500 words) about the author. Group works should have a representative member that will sign the authorization form, all members should be listed on the entry form.
All works must be sent on a digital media [CD-R or DVD], internet work included, properly labeled with the technical specifications and the participants name and also one or more images for each work proposed for publication and documentation with the following specification: TIFF format, 15X10cm, 300dpi resolution. If multimedia work, please also specify the operational system used [Mac, PC or hybrid]. By submitting an entry, the participant warrants copyright ownership and FILE organization is free from any responsibility towards third parties interests. Each participants can submit up to 3 works. Each work needs a different entry form.
The work selection will be made by invited specialists. Selected work will be announced on the FILE website: http://www.file.org.br.
By submitting an entry the entrant hereby grants FILE- festival internacional de linguagem eletrônica, a license to publish and use the entry in any FILE publication, advertisement, marketing or promotional material, by any means FILE chooses. Selected work will be exhibited through projections and equipments open to public. Submission materials will not be returned.
If there is a printed publication of the Festival, an image related to the submitted work will be used. When registering for FILE, the participant is concurrently authorizing the rights of using the works and their images for publicizing and documentation of all events of FILE - Electronic Language International Festival. The works' copyrights, however, belong exclusively to their authors.
Overseas entrants should write “Art for contest. No commercial value” on the outside of the package. There is no submission or participation fee.
When participating in FILE (electronic language international festival) means that the participant recognizes the bases of the contest automatically mentioned previously.

Subscriptions are open from 05th February to March 30th, 2007. Submissions are free and open to professionals, researchers and students of electronic sonority. Describe your technical needs from the festival, stating explicitly those elements/ equipment that you need from the local organizers [kind and amount]. Be as specific as possible. Also, specify how much time you need to prepare your presentation. The selected work presentations [papers, work presentations, etc] cannot exceed 30 minutes. The final papers [file in .doc format] must be sent up to the specified date.
