LANGUAGE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
Launches its 2003 edition book: "NOVAS MÍDIAS/NEW MEDIAS"
In the last four years FILE, a Brazilian initiative, is constituted of: FILE Exhibition,
FILE Symposium and FILE Hipersonica. This event has been showing what is happening
in the world nets related to the digital and electronic arts since the year 2000.
Constituting an international and national reference of study and research today
for the electronic culture and the digital culture the event shows webarts, netarts,
artificial life, computerized animations, tele-conferences in real time, virtual
realities, interactive films, and-videos, robotics; it was administered national
and international lectures during the FILE SYMPOSIUM, a rich contribution to the
digital culture discussion in Brazil; also several national and international
performances were presented during FILE HIPERSONICA, an event that emphasizes
the area of the electronic sonority.
FILE is now launching its book entitled "Novas Mídias / New Medias",
with texts of different authors such as: Ricardo Barreto, entitled "anarco-culture"
a philosophical stamp about the current condition of the digital culture where
the author theorizes the world net information considering the nature of its time
(catatonic time); Paula Perissinotto, "traveling through the new media"
with the intention of contacting the development of the new media the author narrates
a trip through several exhibitions and European institutions of contemporary art
included the Kassel Documenta XI; Artur Matuck, "mediamatic manifest for
a webvirtual proto-art" is treated of a contemporary manifesto of the current
situation among the art, the science and the technology; Ricardo Rosas, "symptoms
of a sonic contamination" the author discusses the new situation that the
music lives in the breast of Internet. The book gathers about 260 digital works,
with their respective URLs (electronic addresses), besides several texts presented
in Symposium and of resonant works and musical participants of the Hipersonica
event.
