MILTON TERUMITSU SOGABE
(1953 - São Paulo - Brasil)
Sogabe is an artist who works with various technologies, and an educator
in the Art Institute at the State University of São Paulo.
His work involves image creation processes through drawing, painting,
printing and new technologies such as xerox, videotext, video, computer,
and other audio-visual equipment. Since 1996,
he has been working in a Interdisciplinary Group, SCIArts,
with Interactive Multimedia Installations.
He has a Master and a Ph.D. in Communication and Semiotics from PUC-SP.

Silvia Laurentiz is a Graphic and Multimedia Designer. Doctor
from the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC) of São Paulo under
the Graduate Communication and Semiotics program. Currently researching
a semiotic approach to Visual Language through the
new technologies. Her interest focuses on animated images. Graduate
in Arts and Master of Multimedia from the Institute of
Arts - DMM - of Campinas University (UNICAMP).
Has projects in virtual reality, multimedia and web art, and
explores the new elements for language that are specific to computer
science: program logic and the actual participation of
the receiver. Professor of the undergraduate course
"Communication in Multimedia", at PUC/SP.
Has participated in various artistic events, including:
2001 - 2nd Sérgio Motta Cultural
Prize - honorable mention, for a project in three stages, under development
since 1997: "Percorrendo Escrituras".
2001 - Interactive Digital Poem for Web
"Móbile", II Intersigno Exhibition, John Calvin Cultural
Hall, Mackenzie Presbyterian University, São Paulo.
2000- Participated in the "Zoom"
television program on "Art and Technology - Women's Day special
", March, presenting her own work, TV Cultura.
1999/2000- Participated in the Mercosul
II Visual Arts Biennial, in the installation "Jacks in Slow Motion:
Experience 2", by J. Müller
and K. Goifman, with the work " VRML corridor", Porto Alegre.
1999- Participation in the event "1.999 reticências",
held by the Commercial Workers Social Service (SESC), São Paulo,
in the "Rizoma" project (Kiko Goifman, Alberto Blumenschein
and Jurandir Müller), with an exhibit on thematic rooms (interactive
3Ds, Vrml format). This project was chosen as the South American finalist
to share in the French "Prix Moebius", in March 2000.
1998 - "VRML Corridor" - web
art, in the Kiko Goifman "Jacks in Slow Motion" site, a project
presented at the 24th International Biennial of São Paulo.
1998 - "ECON" - project in VRML,
based on the poem "O eco e o icon" by E.M. e Castro, presented
at "Intersigno Poetry", Paço das Artes, São
Paulo.
1997 - "Relativamente" - video
produced in graphic computation, animated in 3-D, approx. 1' 30".
